Siteless: An Aerial View of a Plant in Four Parts

Choreographer & Performer: Deanne Butterworth

Sound Design: Michael Munson

Mastered by Casey Rice

Lighting Design: Frog Peck for Bluebottle

Premiered December 2010

Length: 12 minutes

This work was commissioned by Lucy Guerin Inc for the annual Pieces for Small Spaces season

Inspired by watching a drummer drum and the movement connected to making sound happen, this plays with the difference between what you hear, what you see and the overlaps that occur in each action. It could be thought of as a live venn diagram for sound and dance. The sound, the impact, and the movement leading towards the sound of something.

The before and the after- none of this is known- the sound reveals the present moment.

Almost silent moments suggest a 'tripping up' whilst the movement leads to something else that is not initially evident.

There are two sets of moving here.
